This was a really fun book to read that didn't take much time, but I enjoyed it reading slowly. The story is immense and the characters are a breath of fresh air, even though the main is quite controlled by her temper. :)
Excerpt from the back of the book:
DEADLY GRACE
Katsa has been able to kill a man with her bare hands since she was eight-she's a Graceling, one of the rare people in her land born with an extreme skill. As niece of the king, she should be able to live a life of privelige, but Graced as she is with killing, she is forced to work as the king's thug.
When she first meets Prince Po, Graced with combat skills, Katsa has no hint of how her life is about to change.
She never expects to become Po's friend.
She never expects to learn a new truth about her own Grace-or about a terrible secret that lies hidden far away...

Hi Paige! This is Mimi. I absolutely loved this book. The ending bothered me a bit, but I see how it was necessary. What struck me most is how well the author is able to torture her characters. This was on the list for choice books for summer reading at my school. Great decision on the school's part, I say.
ReplyDeleteHi Mimi! Thanks for stopping by the blog.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the ending, but this book was awesome. It was just something else compared to most of the books out there right now. I really can't describe what it has, but wow.
Your school made an excellent choice!
